Charles Ng received 2010 Formula Drift Pro License 奪得2010 年度FORMULA D職業比賽LICENSE

Got my Formula Drift professional license for 2010 at the Formula D Pro-Am Nationals on the Nov 21st. Qualified 7th place and crashed at the top 16 round due to a misjudged line and speed, but the judges granted license to top 16 qualifiers. Now, see you guys at 2010 Long Beach Grand Prix aka first round of Formula D 2010 Series. :) Thanks for Slick Auto and the crew for all the support along the way to success, may our 2010 season be even better! And I am confident that we can do it!

Formula D USA Pro-Am Irwindale Champion 美國Formula D Pro-Am Irwindale新手賽冠軍

Very very successful first outing and winning at the world famous House of Drift--Irwindale Toyota Speedway. Thank you all my crew member for supporting me, without you guys, there would be no way close to possible that I could get this 1st place trophy.

Irwindale is a very challenging and high speed course with a lot of grip, its truly a driver's track where you have to go balls out and no looking back. I did exactly what we needed with limited practice, we made it, team!

OK, now getting ready for the National Pro-Am next month at Irwindale, they will then give out the Formula D pro licenses to top finishers, which is my goal for doing this pro-am series. Wish me luck ! :)

Last but not least, special thanks to DG-5 suspension and angle kit by Drift Speed and engine tuning by G-Dimension, we all share the same victory!


第一次來到美國南加州FORMULA DRIFT的起原地-IRWINDALE TOYOTA SPEEDWAY﹐非常
興奮又緊張﹐因為來的原因不是來看表演﹐而是為爭取明年FORMULA D LICENSE﹐只
要今天打進4強就會被邀請到下個月的全國賽﹐到那時後再選出好手頒發FD LICENSE。

IRWINDALE 這條賽道的確是名不虛傳的HOUSE OF DRIFT﹐ 由整體賽道鋪排到進彎速
道要求的確相當之高﹐還有車子在飄移狀態時JUDGES 要求尾巴要盡量貼近石牆﹐總
總使得IRWINDALE 的挑戰性極之高。

很高興能於IRWINDALE 有幸地爭取我DRIFTING CAREER 的第1個冠軍。感謝我的車隊
成員﹐他們是勝利的關鍵。

好﹐繼續努力﹐下個月FINAL BATTLE!

Asian Touring Car Series-Season Finale 亞洲房車賽全年最終戰

I took second place in my first time racing in Asian Touring Car Series, season finale in Bira Circuit of Thailand, driving for S&D Motorsports from Malaysia.

Big thanks to S&D Motorsports, they were a very professional team that have done numerous professional races including the12 hour of MME in the F1 Sepang International Circuit. With a highly experienced chief mechanic and the crew, though suffering from 2 DNFs in the previous races due to broken driveshalf in first one and a throttle position sensor issue in the latter, we continued to fight on and did not give up until the last lap of the last race. There were a lot of good fights going on between me and Malaysian young driver Chin, throughout the race there were a lot of passing and repass. In the middle of the race I managed to pull a gap away from Chin, however due to a 3rd gear issue I could not continue to put into 3rd gear gate smoothly. Afterall it was a great race, for the race highlight see below:

All in all, it was a great racing experience for me. Having won the Skip Barber MX5 Western Champion myself, I have not done a single standing start and wheel to wheel racing in a front wheel drive car, also driving on the right hand side under the extreme heat and humidity was definitely a big challenge. Everything was very new to me and I have indeed learned a lot, I hope to have the chance to drive for any Asian Teams in the near future.

很榮幸有機會可以參與亞洲房車賽全年最終戰﹐賽事於泰國芭提瓦賽車場舉行。
亞洲房車賽的戰況激烈﹐加上車手們分不同門派經驗﹐這次有幸為馬來西亞的S&D MOTORSPORTS 車隊開車﹐的確讓我獲益不少。

S&D MOTORSPORTS 車隊非常尊業﹐車子雖然2次因機件故障未能完成賽事﹐但未曾影響整體仕氣。於第3戰開始前把車子修好﹐眾人亦把最後希望放再我身上。經過多番激鬥(看VIDEO)﹐

原來經以把對手帶離的我不敵車子的問題難以推進3檔﹐反被對手超越。最終LAP﹐我雖然把對手超越﹐但無奈地栽判把我的PASS當作"超技術"﹐給我10秒的PENALTY。第1台車過終點﹐總還是算有交代吧﹐HAHA!
